Sniper's Alley Guests
Charlotte Braithwaite
episode 8
Charlotte is an award-winning psychotherapist, leadership coach and keynote speaker, and we’d been hoping she’d be a guest from the moment we started planning Sniper’s Alley.
When we speak about midlife issues, we often tend to focus on the physical, but we were keen to also hear from an expert in the field of mental health.
Charlotte’s work is particularly relevant to midlife, when the things that seemed important in your 20s and 30s can suddenly start looking rather different.
Her own experience has influenced her approach. A self-confessed recovering perfectionist, she reached a point where the constant pressure to achieve and keep moving forward stopped making much sense. She went on to retrain as a psychotherapist and develop her Psychological Longevity™ approach, looking at how we can stay psychologically healthy as we get older.
That makes Charlotte a great fit for Sniper’s Alley: the Gen X Podcast. For a generation now firmly in its 40s, 50s and beyond, midlife can bring some fairly big questions: Who are we now? What actually matters? And how do we look after ourselves while everything else keeps changing?
Charlotte is interested in the psychology of getting older, not in pretending we’re still 25. And that’s exactly the sort of conversation we’re interested in having on Sniper’s Alley.
